We had our final dinner last night with our lovely waiter Andy, then went and tried Martini's as they had a special on in one of the bars. I had a chocolate martini and Graeme had a classic dry one- rocket fuel!
We all were up and out of our cabins by 7.30am this morning, so they could get them ready for the next passengers. They put us all in the smokers lounge to wait for disembarkation for an hour and a half- what was with that?? (Ex- smokers!)
Off to the port no worries and we all got taxi's, there were literally hundreds of us and the taxi's just kept coming! We had met a couple from Florida on the Gibraltor excursion- Alex and Blanca, and they are also fluent in Spanish being originally from Cuba. Since it was too far to go to the metro to get to the hotel, Blanca spoke to our taxi driver who only spoke spanishm, for us!
To the hotel where I had booked a suite on the 21st floor as a surprise for Graeme- SO FLASH! wow wee views for ever. The high up photos today are out our hotel rooms.
They let us in to our room at 9am which was fantastic and then Alex and Blanca came to the hotel so we could all do the hop-on, hop-off tour together.
Had a most enjoyable day with them doing the different bus routes, they looked after us so well, speaking to the spanish people for us and translating, then bought us lunch in town. What lovely people. Many of the shop workers here do speak english as a second language, but apparently not so much in Madrid? Lisbon was definitely the easiest to communicate, but having Alex and Blanca today has spoiled us- love listening to their Spanish!
The architeture in Barcelona is amazing, many different styles, some looking quite french actually. Then there is the Gaudi style Barcelona is famous- he was so ahead of his time!
Came back to the hotel and had a bath- yay, SO nice to lay in a hot tub abnd have a soak after so many rooms with just showers. Tonight we are going to the hotel restaurant on the 23rd floor to look at more views, dont opem till 8pm here though! Then we are off to the airport tomorrow morning to fly Barcelona-Athens, Athens - Rhodes, wont land till late, so will see what the internet is like there the day after. We are back to Barcelona after our tour of Morocco so will know the layout a bit better by then.
We have purchased 24hours of internet here today for 10 euros, which is cheap as after the cruise ship, so will add a few photos here and there we didnt have time to over the past week- and answer a few more of the comments on the pages you posted them on!

Hi Guys
Thanks for your email, major guilt has set in as just haven't had any computer time of late. Seems only around account time do I get the chance to catch up on computer stuff. I've had a couple of weekends away to wearable arts awards in wgtn then Mamma Mia in auckland. Then I set myself a to do list as have Andrew's aussie Mum coming out end of October so have been washing windows, painting the bathroom, rediscovering the vegie garden, etc, etc. Trying to do it all on tuesdays when boys in daycare but have had a run of ear infections & tonsilitis so have not always had my tuesday with boys home sick. But fingers crossed we're at the end of it all now, last antibiotics finished yesterday so will see what the week brings but am hoping they will be well for their birthday next weekend. All very mundane really compared to your current lifestyle. What an awesome adventure you're having. Love all the photos! Look forward to hearing the full stories as I'm sure there is more to some than you are letting on!
Hope you're making the most of all those romantic locations!!
You're not missing anything here except rain, rain & more rain, oh & some snow too!
Will say bye for now, will try not to be so slack as you will be home before I have to tackle the accounts again!
Take care & have fun for all of us.
Love & hugs - Lennox's
