Day 25- Heidelberg- Along the romantic Rhine- Dusseldorf

We met for brekky and had- toast ta-da! Was a more westernised breakfast menu. Then we decided to walk the long pedestrian road again as we need to buy a backpack to even up our luggage weight for the next two flights.

Managed to find one and had a nice walk then packed up and got the car. Started towards home, stopping along the Rhine at little villages and towns for a cuppa and cake "caffee und kuchen". There are lots of castles on the hills- saw 3 on the way home in a short distance.

Then decided to keep driving as we had 2 and a bit hours and would be arriving at rush hour. We were lucky when we skirted Cologne as the other side of the motorway was at a standstill for miles and miles. We got home just on 5.30pm, Graeme has done really well with the driving and speeds. The autobahn is pretty fast in spots but it all seems to flow.

The guys dropped the BMW back at the dealership while Anna and I took the bags home. Then we all went out for Italian at a nearby restaurant for the last German supper!

We have a tight connection tomorrow with our flights, we fly to Athens then have another flight 45 mins later. Am so hoping there is no delay otherwise we will be sleeping in the airport until 10.30am the next day! Fingers crossed as the 2 flights are with the same airline and they booked it for us over the phone.!

Mum- no we missed the spaz shot yesterday! were travelling most of the day, so should have got Graeme to drive on the wrong side of the road for a shot- that would have given on-coming traffic a spaz??!!
