Day 19 Duxford Imperial War Museum - Bishops Stortford

Another great sleep and we are waking up later- nice to lie in till you wake even if it is 7am! This Hilton is so cool with being on the inside of the football stadium! Had breakfast with half the team here I think, then packed up and moved on to Duxford as we were keen to see the imperial war museum. It is MASSIVE- huge hangars with different displays and so well done.

We saw a blenheim bomber which my Grandfather first flew in, but they didnt have baltamore which he flew in later- a little disappointing but a great collection still.

OK you get 2 spaz shots of the day today- WITH real american WWII helmets, they were heavy!

We drove on to Bishops Stortford which is a good halfway point to London. We found a hotel to stay in- quite budget at 59 pound, but we only need a bed really. Had a beer ina very old pub up the road then underneath our accomodation is an amazing italian restaurant- what a meal, deep fried, crumbed camenbert for Graeme with Calzone for main. Mine was crab cakes and a half of spaghetti carbonara and half spaghetti and meatballs. Followed by tiramisu and cheescake and a tradtional lemoncello to finish- yes we are full!

Tomorrow is the end of our English driving adventure- returning the car to Heathrow then a night at the hotel before flying off to Germany to meet Anna and Rudy :-)

Yes Duxford Museum is great.

New horizons for you now - Germany - seems ironic after being at Duxford and seeing the weapons of war, eh.

Hope you watched some football being played Dins - still wondering: rugby or soccer??!

Funnily enough there were lots of germans visiting Duxford while we were there

Yes well, it is 67 years since the war ended - we had a couple of go's at each other (with Germany), so hopefully we have all moved on. Drastic way to settle differences, hey.

Hope all those Germans weren't spies - haha!!

Like the spaz shots.
