Day 4 Monday 16th April (I think!)

Slight woopsie for today- lay down for a nana nap at 2pm-and woke up at 6pm!! Came awake awful quick when I realised closing the blackout curtain had been a BIG mistake!

A few random pics- for some reason it wont load them side by side sorry!
This pic shows the nifty presentation of the meal at the Novotel at Auckland airport!

The fog during our morning walk in Seoul- wasnt that cold tho!

The trees, ready to plant in Seoul- looked like a bomb site and these pines didnt look to robust!

Our walk to Hounslow was a 2 hour round trip at a fast walk, so we certainly got our exercise in today! The traffic was bumper to bumper at this time of day at 8.30am, so we were probably a touristy distraction to the drivers as we walked along taking photos. (Dad when you guys come DONT try and leave before 10am!)

Walked around the town centre- so many people here compared to NZ and so many skin colours and cultural diversity- great to people watch.

The weather is amazing today- clear blue sky, crisp temp and still with no wind- perfect for our 1st day.
For any of you who have seen the aussie movie 'The Castle", you can just feel the vibe, the serenity! The vibe has been.... nice people at the info desk at the airport, great funny bus driver from the airport, excellent friendly staff at the premier inn and the guy who helped us at the carphone shop was so nice - and the weather is great to boot! Has a much better vibe than when we came in 2009 and they were rude, disinterested and surly. Although might need to re-assess when we come back to London city I hear the cynics say!

We have got the uk sim anyway now Dad- the reason for our trip this morning, they all just need to be topped up once a month to get 300 free texts and500MB of data (internet access). For 10 quid, you cant complain. We will top it up again before we leave so you get the benefits when you come over and it wont expire if you top it up too by the cut-off of 16th of the month. Will explain when we get back, but its all sorted and we got one that will work with mums phone too.

Nothing much else to report for today- just going to take it easy before setting off for Kent tomorrow.

An old church spire along the way

Hounslow is definitely in the flight path! They come over every 1/4 hour or so.

Our hotel.

Yip it was rather cool this a.m.!

Can almost feel the air there, looking at the Heathrow/Hounslow photos.

I love this temp Mum- it is the sort that Sam and I love, crisp and cool. But supposed to be rain setting in tomorrow. After seeing the traffic today, we arent going to attempt to leave early to get the rental as dont think we would accomplish much.

We are going to head to Canterbury Cathedral before going to Gillingham to meet Debbie and Co.
