Have just come back from dinner- great restaurant here Mum & Dad. Went for a walk out the back of the hotel to get some fresh air after Graemes 2 guinesses and he only lasted about 1 min before he reckoned his nipples were falling off!
The last 2 times we came to the UK(especially 2009) the cost of food etc here were definitely higher- now we reckon NZ is higher. Went out a couple of weeks ago in Hamilton and it was $100 for a meal and drinks in an average place, here is is the equivalent of $80.
Graeme who loves talk-back radio (groan) said people at home have been saying NZ is extremely expensive now. Maybe true but cant say we have a bad standard of living, However certainly makes a huge difference paying double the NZD instead of triple this time!
