Day 1- Auckland airport

Well - all ready to hit the skies! We stayed up at the new Novotel in the airport grounds last night- definitely worth it, the standard is really high, feather duvets and a bed I would like at home! The sound proofing is excellent- we had a million dollar view on the 9th floor of the water off one end of the runway and couldnt hear a single plane take off, even though the bedroom wall is completely glass (double panes).

We had a meal in the restaurant then decided to get an early night since we would be up just after 5am. Got to sleep easy at 8.30pm then woke up feeling great, ready to go and......it was only midnight haha! Anyhow, got off to sleep again then we got up at 5am and went for a good walk around the grounds in the semi-dark, since we will be sitting for the next 12 hours on the flight- was nice and invigorating.

Got over to check in- we had been told it is a fairly full flight but hardly anyone at check in then. Got through and were going to use our new chip passports- but alas we were rejected! The immigration lady said it was cos our names didnt match the flight. Is that a worry Im thinking? but she just smiled and gave them back to us. Of course I then got swiped for explosives! and had a body skim search (think she just fancied me lmao!). They should have swabbed Graeme- he is a boy so always explosive!!

Through to koru club and had some breakfast. Ooh all the alcohol sitting here you could have for free but nah- just couldnt do it at 6.30am! Heaps of people here this morning- you dont realise how many airlines and flights this airport carries until you stay a night and watch them. Mum and Dad- the Emperor lounge you will be going to is really easy to find- after immigration you just follow the premium lounge sign in front of you and its at the bottom of the escalator.

Oh and last night we did go over to the arrivals hall, there was a flight from Apia and another from China. Very different greetings going on- lots of hugs and kisses from the Samoans and just smiles and bows from the asians. Watched one mum come through to meet her teenage daughter, who like Danni was taller than her mother. That reunion had them and me trying not to blub lol!

Will post again when we are able with some pics but might not be until we arrive in London in a couple of days- CYa :-)

Hi Mum, Dad and the Danster,
I have almost got off the floor from the shock of Danni doing her homework unbidded!! You will almost be finished 'to kill a mocking bird' for english?
I have mostly deciphered your comments- might need some proof reading daughter!! But we enjoy your comments even tho only I understand them since dad is devoid of our crazy sense of humour!- no side of rice but have enjoyed dumplings- moist and flavoursome- yum!

You will have to wrote and tell me all about yours and Poppas day at the races and how you got a 2 lap ride?

We are almost ready to board our 2nd flight and all is looking good (thats double H lol to you remember!!@!!!#@!) Dad has only used me as a human barricade once in the airports so far, so he is definitely more relaxed!

Better go now as running out of time.

Love you all and miss the little brat!

No all spelling is correct in that other comment :) Dont want it to be boring for you gotta keep you on your toes :)

Poppa and I had a great day although it was VERY hot (24*c not a cloud soooooo hot) but we walked up to the side of the race track by the pit stop thingys and as we were walking back a lady poped up and offered us some tickets it was $10 pp and we thought we were only getting 1 lap but it turned into two, it was fun we were going so fats I nearly fell out (note sarcasm it was more like 20KM/H) But no it was a really awesome day.

and on tuesday I am going to the movies with Sam and that, so that will be fun to.

Glade to hear that you understand my humor... I had never guess xD

love you loads
