We are all ready to go – just need the last few things packed in our suitcase, we are always pretty relaxed about packing and it is mainly done the day before! Then we will be hitting the road to drive into Christchurch. Staying at the airport at the Sudima tonight and going out for dinner with Pam & Gordon who are kindly looking after our puppy dogs for the month we are away. Paddy and Pip have already settled in at their 2nd home, and are very relaxed! :-)

Dawn as we flew out
We got off from home a bit late as Graeme was held up doing a work handover, but got to the airport hotel and then out with Pam and Gordon at Lone Star. Thought the meal sizes were smaller than they used to be, but after eating, I think maybe not. Ha ha!
Very handy being right next to the shopping centre and supermarket as I had forgotten my moisturiser in my haste, so was able to grab another and then an early night as we are up at 3:30 am tomorrow morning for our flight๐ฌ

Day 1 - NZ to Australia
We were up before the alarm, showered and walked over to the airport nearby. The airport was all wrapped In wispy mist.
Our flight wasn't that full and people boarding were the most relaxed and polite I can remember seeing in a long time lol!
Uneventful flight over to Sydney, had a long wait on the runway though when we landed as they were waiting for a slip to become available, and then buses to the terminal. First time that's happened in a while.
Danni picked us up and back to her place. It is go go go all day, as there's so much to do for the wedding this weekend.
Beautiful weather around 20° and looking good for this weekend, which if you know the Southern Highlands, is very lucky๐. We used to spend a lot of summer, in thick mist when we lived here ha ha!
Great to see Brad when he got home and a lovely evening chatting while we got things done. It feels like we never left!
Day 2 - Sutherland
Today Danni Graeme and I sat down and did a day by day list of what we need for the next 5 days, both pre-and post wedding to buy and-do, so we have a good timeline to follow and don't forget anything!
Then Danni took us to Bud cafe which is attached to a garden centre – the food was absolutely delicious and a work of art visually. Then we went to shopping centre and got some bits and pieces in the supermarket so all the family and crew are fed for the wedding weekend.
The 3 of us went for a big walk this afternoon which was lovely – is so warm here but the wind was really cool today. Nice to see Sutherland and the Community and shops around within walking distance.
Danni did my nails for the wedding with biab – very styly๐ฅฐ.
Brad got home after getting his pre-wedding haircut and we sat around and chatted. We had nachos and Danni made us Amaretto sour cocktails – they are so nice with Amaretto, sugar syrup, lemon juice, egg white, and a maraschino cherry. They were to die for and in fact, we had 2!
All of the New Zealand family arrive tomorrow so it will be really busy picking them up, getting the rental car, getting to the motel and Graeme and I will go with them so Brad and Danni have their apartment back! Then out for dinner straight away, for the two families to meet ๐. Everyone is really looking forward to it.๐๐๐๐
