Days 12-13, 26 & 27 Sep. Sutherland NSW

 Days 12, 26th Sep -Sutherland 

We have stayed pretty close to home these 2 days. We wandered up to the Sutherland Saturday markets first off, was a hot one heading to 33C by lunchtime! Enjoyed the food market and bought crepes and a dragonfruit, strawberry and honey smoothie, which was very nice. Walked back slowly, enjoying

 looking at plane contrails then have been  getting things in order at the kids apartment, before they come home. 

Have done lots of washing post wedding, tablecloths especially that were used, were large and I could only fit 2 in the machine at a time! The heat helped get everything dry quickly at least. We tidied up our gear in the afternoon before wandering back up to Sutherland for a walk and decided to try the fish and chips from the popular fishery, we see why! Lovely with a cold beer 🍺 🍺 . Quiet night in.

Day 13, 27th September 

Now we are finally on Australia time, we are preparing to move again to Vietnamese time! At least it’s only 2 hrs back again. We mooched round today as the temperature has halved to 17C and raining, so gave us plenty of time to repack our suitcases and take out what we will leave here until our return in October. News from our friend Pam in Christchurch today, that it was snowing! And then saw posts from Darfield where we live, showing it falling! Missed it 🫣.

We went for our daily walk up to Sutherland again in between showers, sure has cooled down since yesterday. Bought throat lozenges and night and day tabs, for the colds we have been fighting since the wedding, which we hear danni and Sam have been too. But feeling ok, Graeme is heady still though, but no doubt the heat in Vietnam will dry things out!

We bought roast dinner from another popular spit roast store in town, they are big! I even went for another big walk afterwards as I was so full, then back to finalise everything, ready for the 5:15am alarm in the morning, then we uber to Sydney airport for out direct flight to Ho Chi Min, previously Saigon.

Very luckily, I realised last night that the arrangements to meet danni and brad at the airport with their car, to swap over as they flew home and we left, were actually a day apart. Would have caused some panic if I hadn’t just thought I would check our - and their bookings, cos something at the back of my brain was saying it didnt add up! They leave to come home the same day we leave, but have an overnight flight, so arrived back the following day. Good catch! Hence we will now uber in.
