FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE ASIA TRIP

Final thoughts on our Asia trip πŸ˜€

- We started our trip with a beautiful wedding of our daughter No 2 in Exeter NSW, with all our family travelling over for a special time together πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

- In the past month on our trip through Vietnam, Cambodia & Singapore we have.......πŸ“…

- Taken 6 flights totaling 28 hours in the air ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️

- Spent 22 hours sitting in airportsπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’ΊπŸ’Ί

- Travelled through 4 countries 🌍🌍🌍🌍

- Think we almost saw all 9 million scooter & 1 million cars that are on the road in Saigon!

- Taken a cruise package with imagine cruising on Lotus cruises - a Mekong river cruise. Was excellent & the best staff onboard we have ever come across πŸš’πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

- Enjoyed 500kms of the river - it is totally brown from all the sand dredging that is happening everywhere. And is unfortunately eroding the banks, changing the river structure substantially ⌛

- The cruise went from a few hours out of Ho Chi Mihn/Saigon, along the Mekong river & into Cambodia, ending in Siem Reap

- It was interesting to cross the border from Vietnam into Cambodia, an official came onboard & hand wrote every visa, which had to be paid in USD πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ

- Found out we Loved Cambodia - the people are so kind & everything is so, so cheapπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

- Felt humbled after visiting the killing fields where 16,000 innocent people were killed & H-21 detention Tuol Sleng prison- where 12,000 people were murdered πŸ˜”

- Walked amongst 3 world heritage UNESCO temples in Siem Reap - amazing beyond words πŸ›•πŸ›•πŸ›•

- Loved Phnom Pehn & the night tour via fast tuk tuk & a visit to a rooftop bar, overlooking the city πŸŒƒ

- Marveled at being blessed by a Buddhist monk & him tying 'happy bracelets' on our wrists πŸ”†πŸ”†

- Loved Pub St in Siem Reap-all the restaurants with outdoor seating, wonderful food & so cheap🍻

- loved being at the F1 grand prix in Singapore over 3 nights (but gosh those small plastic seats were a killer!)🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️

- Found we could survive the temperatures & incredible humidity up to 95%!! πŸ₯΅πŸ”†

- 3 showers a day became normal!🚿🚿🚿

- Drank approx 54 beers between us 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

- Saw that Cambodia has its own currency, but USD is king there πŸ’Έ

- Beers were between 75c - $1.50 a pint in Cambodia & in comparison - they were $20 each at the grand prix😟

- Averaged around 12,000 steps a day, but also put on 1 & 2 kgs between us!😢

- Heres to living our best lives through travel & all we've worked towards over 40+ yrs!
