We woke after a sounds night sleep, albeit me with weird dreams! Seem to have Graemes tummy now after the paella last night, strange as it is really just a risotto and rice should have calmed things down a bit! We packed up again then went out for a wander and to find a supermarket type store. Found a big one just down in the square and spent the next half hour deciphering hair gel, moisturizer, toothpaste and conditioner – all in Spanish. Things are pretty expensive in this area, a tube of toothpaste costing nzd $6 for a normal size one!
Went back and caught a taxi down to the port and onto the brand new ‘Splendida’ the newest of the MSC line and boy is she flash. Easy check in and we are familiar with the process, so through the gates quickly. Went for a wander around and it has a dedicated adult area with really flash loungers and day beds! Plus it has a formula one simulator which Graeme was surprised to find is an actual F1 body with a big screen. Its on a hydraulic system which moves the car all over the place as you drive. Think Graeme will be having a go at some point on the cruise for sure!
The Swarovski crystal staircases we had read about that cost $2.8 million, were glittering enough to make a epileptic have a seizure! They have obviously taken what works in the other msc ships and upped the anti again to develop a even more beautiful ship. The cabin is bigger too but creaks non stop in the bigger seas, query because it is brand new??
Neither of us felt up to a 6 course dinner with our stomachs/ loo stops! so got a pizza to take back to the cabin and have an early night.
