Final thoughts on our 2023 grand tour of Europe…..

Over the past 65 days travelling, we have:

- Taken  3 cruises - a transpacific cruise, becoming trusty “Shellbacks” when we crossed the equator!

- a transatlantic and a north Croatian cruise

- 10 flights totalling 41 hrs in the air

- Spent 44 hrs sitting in airports

- Did 1 overnight ferry (think fawlty towers on the water!) between countries

-Discovered a new travel concept called bla bla car which made us some new friends between Bologna and Lucca

- Travelled through 12 countries

- Visited Grand central station in NYC,
- St Paul De Vence in Nice,
- The Cinque Terre,
- Revisited the Colosseum in Roma
- The Acropolis/Parthenon in Athens,
- The Diocletian Palace in Split Croatia,
- The Wave Sea Organ in Zadar,
- The famous Blue Cave Croatia,
- Lucca the walled Italian city,
- San Gimignano
- The white town of Volterra  ……all in Tuscany ( The grapes even tasted purple!)
-The Merlion in Singapore

- Drank approx 23 pints
-23 Aperol and lemon soda’s
- 100 cocktails
- 2 litres of jagermeister
- 1 bottle of ouzo
-1 bottle of lemoncello
-1 bottle of aperol
(Sounding like alcoholics here! But spread out over 2 months between us😀)

All the drinking was offset with walking approximately 780,000 steps! This equates to 594 km!

- The only negatives were the smoking e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.  in France, Italy, Croatia. even if you have just sat down to start eating, they will light up🤢

-The cost of everything were very expensive compared to pre-Covid

But all in all a wonderful and most memorable trip.✈️🚗🛫🛬🚌🗽🚊🚕🧳🚞🚢⛰️🛳️👙🤿🍺🍻🍷🍹🥂🍾🍸☀️🌦️🥵🕶️🌻🌆😍😘
